Woa! Where the hell did that come from?! You uh... you need to work on that. Bad dog!
He came from the Republican Don't know dick University.
Where they are taught to make believe everything and know basically nothing.
Do people still think China is some backward country? They may not be us here in the USA but they are catching up and will probably surpass us in the coming decade or two, considering a large part of american society is getting dumber than a rock.
Now lets pray. "Oh great white bearded man in sky, may through your glory smite the china located somewhere because I can't read a map. Amen!

Wow, it's nice of Apple to provide a little explanation there!
Does this mean they might change the appearance more drastically later, instead of just re-enabling Graphite?

Hello everyone, I'm looking to get into Macs as I've been very impressed with what I've seen at our local Apple store. I'm definately getting an iPhone someday and am leaning towards getting a Macbook.
Couple things REALLY p'd me off about Job's address today.....
1. No announced blu-ray support. I thought something would be coming(FINALLY) being that blu has all but sealed up the format war and that Apple was a partner. Instead...no. Nothing. I want a Macbook with an optical drive...and I don't want it limited to DVD. I have 52 blu-ray movies and the ability to store 25GB per layer on a single blu-ray disk makes me yearn for a notebook with support and I don't want to go get a Sony Vaio. I would like to use Leopard.
2. iPhone updates. New software upgrades. Yay, great. Seriously, the map feature is cool and all that. Neat. Wheres the HARDWARE upgrades?! All these leaked rumors about 3G capability and the need for more storage space only to get neither issue addressed. WHY?
The MBA is really cool and neat, but will be just a niche product - at least for now until there features added. Right now its just a slimmer version of the Macbook with less power, no optical drive, and no user-replaceable battery. A really cool niche product, but not practical at all.
MW isn't over yet....could it be that more announcements such as those I addressed could still be made? I'm hoping so, because if not I am VERY disappointed in what I saw today.

I see that my plan is succeeding. At this very moment, the relentless cascade of blackness is steadily consuming all the energy in the universe. Never mind you puny humans and your so-called contest, the cosmos are MINE, ALL MINE!

Previous keynotes have been made available as free podcasts via iTunes, so unless they are planning the Beatles to reunite (including George and John) I predict that this year's will also be free.

Hitachi is ex-IBM, so they have the worst historical reputation.Actually not all of the Hitachi drives are off the old IBM production lines. Hitachi had their own drive business as well. Also, Hitachi has applied their own technology and resources to the forer IBM production lines.
And in truth, IBM had a couple of spectacular failures with one generation of drives that caused most of the IBM failure issues.

Requires the updated version of the me.com Calendar. I keep meaning to upgrade since I finally meet all the prereqs, but so many people had issues when they first rolled this out that I just haven't budgeted the time (to fix what it might screw up in my calendards) to get this done.
roadbloc, I see what you mean, but it would be nice to be able to add an event on a friend's computer and still be able to get the alert on my iPhone. Right now I can create an event on me.com but the actual alert has to be set up from my iPhone (or from Calendar on my Mac).

Just to check, if I build with Xcode 4 can I submit to iTunesConnect? The SDK isn't in beta so logic says yes but I just want to be sure.

No problem with Snow Leopard here.
What software crashes.
Except I've had the same results on all the machines I've had that ran Snow Leopard.
MacBook Pro 2.33ghz Late 2006
MacBook Pro 13 2.26
Mac Mini 2.26
Mac Mini 2.4
MacBook Pro 2.66
It's been equally problematic on all of them.
Seems to be user problem. You probably have one piece of software that's causing the problem.

PS3 Mediaserver is a great solution. I've got it hooked up on my network and use my i7 PC to stream media to it. For streaming media, I usually go for Netflix, which in the US, has a pretty good selection, especially if you are into TV Shows. Sorry about the not so great selection. Hopefully it will get up dated soon. The best solution outside the PS3 media server is to convert everything that the PS3 likes using Handbrake. As a media streamer, i would have to agree with everyone else that it's kinda half baked but works well enough.
Where it shines is as a Blu-Ray player. That's one main reason I use mine and it's fantastic. I've also converted to getting all of my games on the PS3 since I'm afraid my 360 will crap out.

The big idea is you will probably void your warranty doing the mods, and seeing as to how Macs need warranty these days, less obligations for Apple! :D

Thanks, that is the method I have been using. It just seems a bit inelegant!
I tend to agree. It is a bit of a pain.

It all depends. I liked the V600 better than the V400 for these reasons.
It was made out of Metal/Aluminium instead of plastic.
I seemed to be able to hear better on it. Although i think it was do mainly to ergonomics.
I liked the look and feel of it much better. To me the V400 was the beta, and the V600 was the final product.
I value style, and durability, so I went with the V600. Also, I had a V60 which I loved. Possibly the best phone I have ever owned, and the V600 remind me much of it. I'm sure was a big part of my decision.
And as for battery life, if I remember correctly it was about the same. No huge difference.
So I guess if your an average user, The V400 is a good fit.
BTW, I dont think Cingular sells the V600 anymore. I think they replaced it with a 500 series phone. Which is made out of plastic :(Well im using the samsung sgh-x427 non m model and i like it except for the fact that it will only hold 3 downloaded full audio ring tones which is freakin lame imo only 3!! I mean come on. Also its not a camera phone and the battery is less than satisfactory. I want a camera phone with great battery life, i do a lot of text meseging and on the phone all the time i want something that will last me at least 4 days without having to run to my life saving charger. Am i asking to much? ah well come on cingular the technology is there isnt it

It's like the publisher said to a low level writer: "Why don't we have any articles about Apple?" and the low level writer said: "I'll do one up in 30 minutes."

I don't understand why people wait so long to update... like if you have a 3gs there was no reason not to upgrade to 4.0 when it was a website based jailbreak.. your missing out on so many features fixes and upgrades.. I just dont get it
These are the same people who still use Netscape 1.0 and Windows 3.11. Updating just doesn't matter to them.

I nealry lost a testicle when my wife saw the debit... but once she got to use the monitor a bit.... she was thrilled and acknowledge how much better it is then her 17 inch dell at work and praised me for making such a wise investment....
now if that does not demonstrate the quality of apple.... you should just go buy a dell!
The negative post on the new 23" on the Apple forum have slowed down and seem to be populated by a few who have uneven backlighting with yellow shading on the left.
