You do not require valid visa stamp to go India. If your kids are US citizen, you will need PIO card for them. While travelling back from India, you will be asked for valid Visa or AP to board fight for US from Frankfurt.
Our visa stamp (H1B/H4) are expired in our passports. We are planning to travel via 'Frankfurt (FRA), Germany' to Mumbai in Lufthansa airlines and we will get our passport .....................

Hello there
I was in same boat except my extention is for 3 year. I asked Att. Ron same that my labor and I 140 is approved and what if I leave this company and join new one and current one withdraw all papers. As per RON once you have I 140 approved and even if company withdraw it u can get 3 years unlimited extention with new company as long as new company apply for GC. Doesnot mean u need anything approved but should be under process. PERM or I 140 OR I 485.

you can work in your field of education for any company. however, they have to file for a transfer of H1 for you to continue working beyond the expiry of OPT.

I recently sponsored for my uncle and his wife and had no problems. Just send the sponsor docs with I-134, letter to consulate etc. Uncle had to provide info on his ties back in India.
My last name was not same as uncle's ( guess that is what your doubt is) and that was not an issue at all.

Its a shame that they still promote the 50,000 GC visas for the so called "diversity" program. And yet don't care about the 100's of thousands folks who are legally here and aspiring to assimilate with the American society and paying huge taxes (H1's do pa more taxes then citizens).

Sorry, I was not sure what test I missed. I thought everything was done and was mentioned in I-693. I do not have copy of I-693 I submitted. I will try to get it from doctor. Pending of that, is this common test which I must have it and mention it on the I-693? I need to submit just TB Skin test or everything?

After the stab at Sony that Canon made in the press release stating they were releasing ~ 20 cameras this year, you don't think they'd let Sony get that far ahead, do you? :p
In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. Hi Friends,
I am a green card holder, becoming eligible for citizenship in April 2009. My fianc�e has been in the US for the past 2 plus years on F1. She completes her MS in December this year .We plan to visit our home country in August this year and get married. I thought this was a relatively uncomplicated case till I read in some forum recently that marriage to a permanent resident can be a barrier to being admitted to the U.S. in F-1 status. This is because such a marriage obliterates the "non-immigrant" intent required for F-1 entrants. This could very easily jeopardize her plan to re-enter in F-1 status.
Any thoughts or advice on this? Appreciate all the help.

* AILA has reported that it is the practice and policy of Vermont Service Center that if it receives a revocation letter from the current employer before it receives the transfer H-1B petition by a new employer, they deny the transfer petition because it is the VSC position that at the time the current employer revokes the current position, the H-1B alien immediately falls into a period of "unauthorized stay" in the U.S. This policy can push the transfer H-1B aliens into a tricky situation when the alien employees invoke AC 21 H-1B portability against the will of the current employer and the current employment contract requires 14-day advance resignation notice. It is thus imperative that the transfer H-1B employees should neither notify nor turn in the resignation before the new H-1B petition is "filed." Worse situation could be termination of H-1B employees by the current employer in a hostile environment. Since the current employer is likely to file the revocation (withdrawal) notice in the latter situation immediately, such H-1B alien can face a serious problem unless they are eligible for nun pro tunc H-1B filing.
