I've had my iBook for about 2 months now and i love it. i absolutely love it. my PC has never been so neglected :)
I have only one small problem with it and thats the keyboard layout. And its not what you think, its got nothing to do with the cmd, alt or ctrl keys, i've gotten so used to them, that i sometimes press Alt V on my windows machine instead of Ctrl V. :)
My gripe lies with the implementation of the British Keyboard layout. (yes we use our own different layout :) )
Basically this keyboard is layed out like a std US keyboard with the � on top of the 3. To my british trained fingers lots of keys are in the wrong place, for instance
@ is on top of the 2, rather than on top of '
" is on top of ' instead of on top of 2
Euro is alt2 instead of alt4
# is alt 3 instead of being on the mid right hand side of the keyboard.
Its not a big deal (except that when i needed to use keycaps the first time i wanted to use #, and i miss having � off the main keyboard) as my fingers are now used to this keyboard and automatically remember the correct layout when i use another computer. I still love my iBook, and the only way you get it away from me is to pry it from my cold dead fingers, or to replace it with a G5 PowerBook :)

Why don't one of you overachievers figure out how to use a BB's tethering for use with an Ipad2 wifi only. Is there already a way to connect usb to ipad via some type of converter etc?

I think I got what you want, but unfortunately I tweaked a little here and there too much and so I'm not completely sure what all I changed. I'm attaching a screen shot of the result in Firefox 4 RC1. As a note, the page doesn't look right in Opera 11. The background gradient color on the body is what's off.

I have acquired an iMac g4 700 with only a cd drive. I would like to install Tiger via a retail DVD. Can I place the DVD in another machine and install via FireWire?

I'm assuming this 077 number is in Octal form because it uses only digits 0 and 7, and Octal requires 0-7 as well.
The book doesn't explain how to convert, but it does show an example.

Ill be going to the Apple store at the Falls. Even though the At&t store is close by but I have a feeling a lot of people will be going there to activate their phones for the first time.

I jailbroke it because now I can add cydia apps that bypass some shortcomings of the native iPad (password protecting specific apps, mail enhancements, widgets, etc)
In my second post on this thread, I stated that I just reset the iPad and still have the same problem.
Just go to an Apple retail store, they'll fix it for you. Worst case scenario you'll get a replacement but since you jail broke the device, it may void the warranty without the exception of this issue. You don't seem to be clear enough of your problem.
Did you have this issue of the apps icon disappearing before you jail broke it? If you did, why didn't you go to Apple to look at it for you?
Or... Did this happen after jail breaking and the problem still persists even after factory reset?

I'm hoping someone (with more experience at this than me) can help. I'm a UK citizen currently working in the US. I'm paid in cash and have been paying this into a US bank account. I finish my contract and head back to the UK in a month or so, and would prefer to keep my money in US dollars at the moment (until I can get a good exchange rate).
As I'm not getting any interest on the money, I would like to invest it in some Apple stock. I have researched this but cannot seem to find the best way of doing this. It seems I have to be a US citizen for most brokers to help me? And I'd rather use US brokers instead of UK as my money is in a US bank account.
If anyone has any advice as to how I as a british citizen can invest USD into a US company that would be great.

I am new to go and don't know much about it, but am interested in it.. what are good resources to check out to learn how to play? either online or at the library, and what is that game otello, or is that a seperape entity?
Sensei's library is a great resource for learning. Also, like cayley said, just play. Open an account on Dragon Go Server and give it a try. I'd suggest playing on some smaller boards first (9x9, 13x13), to play fast, and to not worry too much about how you do at first. Just get through some games, and see how you feel about it. If you start out with a 19x19 game on Dragon Go, it might take a month or two to finish it if you're not playing quickly with someone.
It's not the same game as Othello. The two games are completely different except that the game pieces look similar.
