Recently , a friend of mine who lost his job while on EAD had these questions.

1. He has EAD and H1B both valid till 2010. What should he use to get a jbo, ead ot h1b, what are some of the good reasons to avoid using ead as ar as possible?

2. Is he eligible for unemployment allowance.

My friends company is considering to send him to Canada for some consulting assignment.
All other people in the department are USA Citizens.
I was wondering what Visa would my friend need to work in Canada.
I ask , as USA citizens may have different rules than Indian Citizens , to work in Canada.
Does anyone else have any experience with this ?

DAZED: Once your H1B extension is approved, it will expire only on the date shown in I797. Your 485 rejection does not invalidate your H1. BTW, if you use your H1, your H1 is invalid but you will still be able to extend it as long as it has not expired.

I dont know if it was EB2 or EB3... Well filed concurrently on june 30, arrive at NSC on july2.. lets see what happens now... :confused:

Is there any law for disabled immigrant. I am 33 years old, and I am disabled, and I am here in US from 1998. I really want to settle down in one place, and it does not matter whether it is India or America but I think I have to make a choice right now, or my future will be a big question mark.
I have waited for a long time, thinking future will be bright, day by day I dont feel I will get my Green Card, So as my lost option I am wondering whether there is any option for disable immigrant? Any help is appreciated.

Hi ,

I'm looking for university professor/asst professor/lecturer job whereby university can sponsor h1b.If anybody can point me to universities which sponsor h1b in/near bay area ,it would be great. the local community colleges does not seem to sponsor h1b.

Faculty positions that require a minimum qualification of Ph.D. would sponsor H1-B.

I am curious; what is your qualification? Folks who have a serious shot at a faculty position normally do not bother about asking questions about H1-B; that's the least of the hurdles of getting a faculty position.

I have ben working with employer A on an H1B ( even labor and I-140 approved, PD-April2009) and planning to apply for H1 transfer now through employer B.

After the transfer is approved for B, if I change my mind and decide to continue to work with curent employer A, can I do that ?

Now because all embassies and consulates required to use PIMS to verify your H1B status... sometimes takes several weeks to get the passport stamped. In my case takes 3 weeks after interview to get my passport back (embassy at Lima, Peru).

So beware of the timing

I just bring a copy of my wife H1B approval and copy of lasts taxes ... just in case

Gurus,

My lawyer received Ability to Pay rfe on my I-140. My lawyer is ready with most of the documents

Duration to be covered
2004-2008

My docs ready for the duration:
W2s ( 2004 - 2008)
Tax returns ( 2004 - 2007)
Paystubs ( recent )

Company docs ready:
Tax returns: 2004 - 2007

However for year 2008, company has requested IRS an extension to file tax return.Company is trying to come up with audited financial statement for year 2008. They are still working on it.

However deadline for filing RFE response is this Wednesday ( 03/11/2009)

My questions:

1. Can my lawyer ask for an extension for filing RFE response in this scenario ?
2. Are there any alternatives if my company cannot come up with audited financial statements in this time frame ?

I appreciate your inputs.


You can send the certfied statements along with bank statements along with explaination. But they will not consider that. But you have send for the heck of sending them
